Most of Miami-Dade's Jewish burial grounds are in Miami itself. Mount Sinai Memorial Park on Northwest 137th Street provides Orthodox burials; Mount Nebo Kendall opened in 1952 as Star of David Memorial Gardens, with a funeral chapel on the grounds; Lakeside Memorial Park has served the Jewish community since 1955. Others are Jewish sections inside larger cemeteries — the Beth Israel Garden at Graceland Memorial Park, Shalom Memorial Gardens in North Miami Beach with a Holocaust memorial at its center, and the consecrated section at Vista Memorial Gardens in Miami Lakes.
