A reference used in a hard week has to be discreet. This page says, in plain language, what the site collects, what it does with what you send, and what it never does.
EverJewish never sells, rents, or pools family information, and never shares it with any funeral home or cemetery except the one you yourself choose to write to. Browsing the site requires no account and no signup. The site is published by EverJewish LLC.
Like most websites, EverJewish records ordinary server logs and uses Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how people arrive — from a search engine, an AI assistant, or a link. IP addresses are anonymized before Google stores them, advertising features are switched off, and we do not use these figures for anything but understanding and improving the reference. To count how often a listing's phone number, website or directions are used, the page also sends a small anonymous signal to our own server with a random per-visit code that expires when you close the tab; it carries no name, email, or precise location. We use no advertising networks and no cross-site tracking.
If you press "Use my location," your browser asks your permission and passes your approximate coordinates to our server once, to find cemeteries near you. They are used for that search and are not stored.
When you use "Ask a question" on a listing, your message, name and email go to that provider's office and to nobody else. We keep a copy so that if the office has not replied within two days we can send you its phone number and follow up on your behalf, and so we can tell whether offices answer families. We never forward your message to another provider, and providers never receive a list of who has asked.
The plain-language guide on city pages reads the documented records for your area to answer what you type. What you write is used to produce that answer and is not kept on file or shared with any provider.
If you submit a correction or claim a listing, we keep what you send so we can act on it and reply. A provider who verifies a listing gives us a work email and, for paid verification, payment details that are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. Correction and verification records are kept as part of the editorial history of each listing.
We write to cemetery and funeral home offices about their own listings, and to people who have written to us. Every message we send to a provider carries a one-click way to stop hearing from us. We do not send marketing email to families.
The site works without cookies. The only cookie we set ourselves keeps our own staff's visits out of the visitor figures; a comparison list you build is stored in your own browser and never sent to us. Google Analytics sets its own cookies when it loads.
Only the companies that run the site on our behalf — Cloudflare (hosting), Google (aggregate analytics), Resend (email delivery) and Stripe (payments) — each of them under its own privacy terms and only to provide that service. We disclose information otherwise only when the law requires it.
To see, correct, or delete anything you have sent us, write to us through the contact page and we will do it. Providers can ask us to stop writing to them at any time using the link in any message.
EverJewish is written for adults making arrangements and does not knowingly collect information from children.
